I recently toured and visited with Nicole and Joel at the Costa Mesa facility. What a beautiful center! I was most impressed with their holistic approach to treatment, pet friendly, and that they have smaller groups which is a huge benefit. Super impressive and would certainly send a loved one to see them.

True Recovery is a phenomenal recovery center, my life was in shambles when I arrived at True recovery. The staff is very caring and went above and beyond to meet my needs and the program is astounding as well. They definitely stay on top of your treatment and gave my life the structure I needed, to make a true recovery. I did their 90 day program and while in the program the staff did an awesome job at making sure I got to all my job interviews efficiently and made sure I got any medical attention I needed. Staff is very respectful and compassionate. They take clients on weekly outings. The living facilities are very comfortable and modern. True Recovery is definitely the best in Orange County

I just want to take my time and thank True recovery, very professional place good place for your love one they work with ur Son and not only ur Son with you as well they give you support and they always call you on the phone and update you about everything ur child do and they very friendly and when my Son was there I was so happy and confortable I feel like my Son was in good hands. Advice I can give you don’t let no one change your mind about this place they all out there hungry for the insurance not for ur child health. When I asked for a financial report my requests were met with vague reassurance. I was told “there’s no need to seek this information because insurance covers it all “. When I pressed on I was ignored and shuffled along. The case managers are overworked and over loaded. Each time I met with my case manager I felt like I’d been convinced into compliance out of fear. True recovery is understaffed. Many of their employees are in early recovery. At one point I was told to “work a fourth step” by a support staff member when I expressed that I disagreed with her. This particular staff member was in charge of six females clients all in different stages of recovery and programing. The same is true for the male staff. On this particular day there were many issues among patients and staff. The same staff member claimed immunity when a client assured her she would take up her issues with the clinical team. True recovery works with and accepts referrals. This is a buisiness first and foremost.They encourage insurance pay outs for relapses and referrals. When I chose to leave they were somewhat uncooperative. I gather they were sad to see yet another client go so soon. Their woman’s program is small and dwindling. I suggest making an honest attempt at researching the stipulations of your stay here before making a final choice. Many rehabilitation centers could be similar. I encourage others to be as honest as possible when taking the steps to recover.

The team at True Recovery is absolutely phenomenal and truly care about their clients and their individualized road to recovery. The support staff, counselors, case managers, admin staff and everyone is perfectly blended! The treatments, facilities and activities are spot on for a successful journey into sobriety, I strongly recommend True Recovery and am thankful that I found them.

True Recovery changed my life. They took me in and helped shape me into the woman I am today. Working in the treatment industry now, I can honestly say programs as honest, thorough, kind, and compassionate as True are not come by often.

The staff is caring and goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure everyone is taken care of, comfortable, and has everything they could possibly need. Clients have the opportunity to regain their life in the most wonderful way. Making contacts in sobriety, enjoying fulfilling activities, tickets to the Orange County fair, amusement parks, enjoyable outings all over the Southern California area. Clients not only get the chance to get well physically and mentally, but they also learn how to live a fabulous life clean,and sober surrounded by positive influences. I highly recommend true recovery.

True Recovery is the hands down most amazing program I have been in, this place saved me from a very dark place in my life, they helped me live when I didn't want to anymore and love the life I live and love myself. I am forever grateful for every staff member, they have gone above and beyond in every way for me when I felt I didn't deserve it. They showed me I do have worth. They helped me get on my feet and become stable in every way possible, with finding a job and learning how to become a great parent. I'd recommend anyone to come here if they want to start bettering their life. Thank you so much True Recovery! You'll forever have a place in my heart!

While many other rehabs have fallen into financial greed and corruption, True has never lost focus on what is important. Quality treatment, compassion for the individual, experienced and knowledgeable staff, and a beautiful environment. This was the treatment center that gave me my life back, and I'm proud to have over a year sober. True will walk with you through every step of this long journey. Guiding you through the underlying issues of your addiction, helping you recover, and showing you what amazing things await in a healthy sober life. While in the grip of addiction I came across akua on FB. The people in admission were kind and inviting and helped me through the entire intake process. Upon arriving to detox I was met an extremely caring staff. They helped me to be as comfortable as possible throughout my detox. The programing at residential was amazing. The staff was supportive and encouraging and the personal growth I experienced through working with the clinical team was amazing. My overall experience with akua was spectacular. I grew so much during my time there and then provided me with the tools I needed to begin living a life in sobriety.

I had been to different treatment centers before and what stood out to me about AKUA is the staff, they go above and beyond for the clients on a much more individual basis. The clinical the staff was amazing and I received great individualized therapy. The properties and housing were beautiful and located in great areas. I received amazing support from every one at AKUA and they gave me the foundation I needed to begin building a life in sobriety.

This place is amazing. I have been to a few treatment centers in the past but none compared with the experience I had with Akua. I struggled with addiction for 8 years, and in late 2016 I was yet again in need of help. Although, I was reluctant to check into yet another treatment facility. However, from the start this place made me completely comfortable. The staff (from detox all the way to the therapists) did an incredible job and really helped me throughout my entire time there. Id highly recommend this place to anyone who maybe looking for a great treatment center.

Akua definitely goes above & beyond to reach their patients. I being the older brother of an addict had several interactions with Dominica who is very knowledgeable in what she does, but most importantly they really care. They make sure you know that your success is their goal. A lot of people are just in it for money, not Akua. I would highly recommend anyone struggling with addiction or friends a family with struggling addicts to call Akua, even if it's not where you end up, you'll be thankful you called & learned as much as I did. This is the best treatment center in Orange County.

This place is wonderful especially for being in such a generous position. I have been to a few facilities on my journey to recovery this time around (I'm no treatment hopper just bad luck..with solid landing's closing down unexpectedly I snowballed here luckily!) I'm actually confident I will make it this time around. This place is exactly what you need and more. I am grateful they took me in on short notice, George absolutely does what he can for EVERYONE. Some folks had no insurance and still have all their needs met, this is no halfway house by the way. Nonprofits get a bad wrap when it comes to the judgment but STEPHOUSE is phenomenal and an overachiever amongst the average!!! I wish facilities like this could receive more acknowledgement. Don't be fooled by the glamorous facilities that pull in insurance with greed to drop you off at the next bus station, they are prone to drop you for anything or nothing at all and don't offer the reality assistance and real world guidance that stephouse does. I feel sorry for those who had to go through my experience on the way to recovery this time around.. stephouse is the mother teresa of treatment centers. I see so much beauty in the staff selection, and being a nonprofit it is miraculous how much they offer for the clients involved. I am forever grateful and feel confident for once in my life that I will remain clean without a doubt! THANK YOU GEORGE & LANA!

My time in treatment at Akua was totally rewarding. They have a highly effective program with the best staff and councelors in California. The groups are excellent and beneficial with a great atmosphere. They were always there for me during a very difficult time in my life. I feel so blessed for the help they provided to me. The after care is wonderful with alumni meetings and special events. They have been so supportive in my recovery and there are many of them I can call any time for advice and help when needed. You can't go wrong making a phone call to them. Good Luck

This place is the epitome of excellent friendly service. The staff here is friendly, knowledgeable and act as though they sincerely care about each person that walks in the door. I have been working with them for a couple of weeks and would highly recommend this place to anyone needing help.
